  3. This application has been ported from the original X11 version of RasMol
  4. which is Copyright © 1992-94 by Roger Sayle. The implementation of the
  5. RISC OS specific features is © 1996 by Martin Würthner.

  7. RasMol is a molecular graphics program intended for the visualisation of
  8. proteins, nucleic acids and small molecules. The program is aimed at
  9. display, teaching and generation of publication quality images.
  10.  
  11. For further information about RasMol and the RISC OS port in particular,
  12. see the '!Help' file inside the '!RasMol' directory. The command line is
  13. explained in the file 'HelpFile' inside the '!RasMol' directory. Features
  14. introduced with version 2.6 are described in the release notes '26beta1'
  15. and '26beta2' in the 'Docs' directory inside '!RasMol'.

  17. The directory 'data' contains some sample molecules and scripts. '1crn'
  18. and '3cro' are two proteins from the Brookhaven Protein Databank,
  19. 'aspirin', 'atropine' and 'caffeine' are Alchemy files.

  21. 'Script1' displays the 1crn molecule in a space filling representation
  22. with specular highlights. 'Script2' displays the aspirin molecule using
  23. more advanced features e.g. displaying the Van der Waals dot surface and
  24. atom labelling.

  26. The script 'Rotate' rotates the currently loaded moleucle by 90 degrees
  27. in steps of 10 degrees.
